Help With the My Mia
Mail
Last update: Wednesday,

The My Mia Mail is powered by
DMailWeb, published by NetWin Limited of New Zealand. The system is
fast and easy to use. While the Email Viewer can be used as your
primary email interface, we strongly suggest that you continue to use
a dedicated email client such as Outlook Express, Eudora or Claris
Emailer, as these programs are far more powerful in terms of dealing
with email effectively. The Email Viewer is intended primarily to
allow easy checking of your mail when you do not have access to an
email program or just want to see what's in your mailbox without
performaing sophisticated mail handling tasks.
When using the My Mia Mail, simply
enter your POPmail username and password. You do not need to use the "@" sign anywhere, nor do you
need to reference "mail.mia.net"!
When using My Mia Mail for the first
time, you will be prompted to enter a few default values that the
system will remember. These include:
- Your real name: So the system can
place your real name on outgoing messages you send to
others
- Default return address: This is
the address shown to others when you send them mail. Your Mia.Net
address is used by default.
- Max message size to download:
This specifies the size of the largest message you want My Mia
Mail to download to your browser. We suggest keeping this set at
1000Kb (1MB) or less to avoid getting mired in large file
attachments.
- Max number of messages to
download: If you recieve a large amount of email, you might want
to set My Mia Mail to download a maximum of only 25-30
messages.
- Auto refresh newmail screen: Here
you can specify the number of seconds the system will wait until
checking for new mail again automatically. Setting this parameter
will allow you to open the email viewer and leave it open on your
desktop. The new mail page will automatically refresh at whatever
interval you choose.
- Signature file: You can type a
signature in this text box that will be appended to all messages
you compose and send from within the My Mia Mail system.
